Jeopardy! Key Art

In Thursday’s episode of Jeopardy!, three contestants took the stage. Aaron Brown, a trivia host from Ontario, faced Angel Poe, an educational consultant from Florida, and returning champion Rishabh Wuppalapati, a University of Pennsylvania student with $42,402 in previous winnings.

The game started with categories like “Picture the Hit Song,” “Planted By,” and “Recent Slang.”

The first Daily Double came in “Planted By,” where Angel attempted to answer a question about trees at Rideau Hall but lost $1,000. By the first break, Aaron led with $6,200, while Rishabh sat at $0 and Angel was at -$2,000. Entering Double Jeopardy!, Aaron held a slight lead with $6,800.

In Double Jeopardy!, categories like “Historic Slogans & Mottoes” and “The Books of Mormons” tested the players. Aaron found the second Daily Double under “Women’s Organizations,” but his modest $2,000 wager cost him the lead. Shortly after, Aaron uncovered another Daily Double in the “Books of Mormons” category, betting his entire $10,400, but missed, which gave Rishabh a strong advantage heading into Final Jeopardy! with $15,400.

The Final Jeopardy! category, “Letters of the Artists,” asked the players to identify a painter from an 1896 letter. Both Rishabh and Aaron answered incorrectly, the answer was “Who was John Singer Sargent?,” but Rishabh’s lead was enough to secure a victory with $10,400, bringing his three-day total to $52,802. Angel ended the game with -$400, finishing in the red, while Aaron closed with $1,600.
