Jesse Lee Soffer Joins ‘FBI: International’ for Season 4

FBI International

Former ‘Chicago P.D.’ Star Takes on a New Challenge in the Dick Wolf TV Universe.

Jesse Lee Soffer, known for his role as Detective Jay Halstead on “Chicago P.D.,” is returning to television with a new role in the fourth season of “FBI: International.” Soffer will portray a yet-to-be-announced character, marking his first regular TV role since his departure from “Chicago P.D.” in 2022.

Soffer fills the void left by Luke Kleintank, who exited the show in its third season. Interestingly, Soffer’s new character will exist separately from his previous role as Detective Halstead, despite both shows sharing the Dick Wolf TV universe.

The actor’s decision to join “FBI: International” comes as a surprise to some, as he had expressed a desire to “grow and expand” and take on new challenges after leaving “Chicago P.D.” Soffer’s exit from the show was an emotional one, with the actor describing it as “one of the toughest decisions” he had ever made.

Fans had hoped for the return of Detective Halstead, but with Soffer taking on a new character, that possibility seems unlikely. The fourth season of “FBI: International” will premiere in the fall of 2024, airing on Tuesdays at 9/8c on CBS. The cast includes Carter Redwood, Vinessa Vidotto, Christina Wolfe, and Eva-Jane Willis, with Soffer adding a fresh dynamic to the team.
