Netflix

Netflix has unveiled the leading ladies for its upcoming dark comedy limited series, Sirens: Julianne Moore, Meghann Fahy, and Milly Alcock. The show is created by Emmy-nominated writer and showrunner Molly Smith Metzler, known for her work on Maid.

The series will explore themes of women, power, and class. In a press release, Netflix revealed that the show is “an incisive, sexy, and darkly funny exploration” of these themes.

Moore, an Academy Award-winning actress, will portray Michaela Kell, a philanthropist, and animal activist who runs island high society and is married to a billionaire, Peter Kell. Her character is described as having a seemingly too-close-for-comfort relationship with her assistant, Simone DeWitt.

Meghann Fahy, known for her roles in The White Lotus and The Perfect Couple, will play Devon DeWitt, Simone’s older sister who is on a downward spiral back in her hometown. She is described as funny, resilient, and fiercely protective of her younger sister.

Milly Alcock, who recently starred in House of the Dragon and Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, will portray Simone DeWitt, a sharp and charming young woman who has landed the opportunity to work as a personal assistant to Michaela Kell.

The series will be directed by Emmy-nominated director Nicole Kassell (Watchmen, The Baby) who will also serve as an executive producer.

According to the logline, “Devon thinks her sister Simone has a really creepy relationship with her new boss, the enigmatic socialite Michaela Kell. Michaela’s cult-ish life of luxury is like a drug to Simone, and Devon believes it’s time for an intervention.”

Sirens is set to take place over one explosive weekend at The Kells’ lavish beach estate. The premiere date and additional casting are yet to be announced.
