The Sky Crime documentary series Killer in My Village returns with an episode focusing on the tragic death of Sabrina Cooper. The episode uncovers the shocking truth behind her death, which was initially believed to be an unfortunate accident.
On December 18, 2022, the body of Sabrina Cooper was discovered by police in her one-bedroom flat on Connaught Road in Eastbourne, East Sussex. Her family, concerned about her welfare, had raised the alarm. What unfolded was a sinister turn of events. Crime scene examiners found blood-stained clothing in both the washing machine and the lounge, indicating foul play.
The investigation, led by the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team, revealed a disturbing online message posted by Tony King, 60, from Eastbourne, that seemed to foreshadow the killing. A draft of a second message, indicating that he had carried out the act, was also found. King admitted to the murder and to possessing a knife in a public place.
As the case progressed, the motive behind the senseless murder remained unclear. King was sentenced to life in prison, with a minimum term of 22 years and 182 days. Cooper’s family remembered her as a loving daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother who was excited about a new chapter in her life, selling her magic shop and moving on to new ventures.
Killer in My Village: Sabrina Cooper airs on Sky Crime on Thursday, 19 September 2024, at 9:00 pm.
