This week’s Law & Order finds tragedy hitting a little too close to home for the folks at the DA’s office. When a prominent judge’s family becomes embroiled in a murder investigation, the team must determine if the crime is connected to the judge’s past rulings. Naturally, things are never simple in the world of Law & Order.
Detective Kevin Bernard (Anthony Anderson) is tasked with uncovering the truth behind the murder, all while attempting to handle the fraught emotions of a grieving family. Meanwhile, Frank Cosgrove (Jeffrey Donovan), never one to mince words, encounters a particularly stubborn witness who refuses to cooperate, forcing him to, shall we say, encourage their participation.
Adding to the complications, ADA Nolan Price (Hugh Dancy) faces a tricky ethical quandary. Balancing a witness’s right to privacy with the need to uncover the truth proves to be more difficult than simply quoting legalese. One might even wonder if there’s any truth to be found at all.
Law & Order: Truth and Consequences airs on NBC this Thursday, November 14, at 8/7c.
