Prime Video’s Fallout is adding a distinct new presence to its post-apocalyptic wasteland. Macaulay Culkin, the former child star of Home Alone, is joining the cast for season two in a recurring role, described by Deadline, who first reported the news, as a “crazy genius-type character.” While details remain scarce, the casting itself is enough to pique interest.
Fallout, based on the immensely popular video game franchise, received a season two renewal back in April. Given the source material’s penchant for offbeat characters and dark humor, Culkin’s casting suggests he’ll fit right in. The games are known for their memorable, often eccentric, inhabitants, and a “crazy genius” certainly fits that bill.
The first season introduced viewers to a sprawling cast, including Ella Purnell, Walton Goggins, and Kyle MacLachlan, all struggling to survive in a world ravaged by nuclear war. Culkin’s character adds a new element to this already unpredictable landscape – 200 years after the bombs fell, the survivors contend with mutated creatures, treacherous environments, and pockets of strange new societies.
While the premiere date for season two, much like the specifics of Culkin’s role, remains under wraps, his addition injects a certain volatility into the Fallout universe. Is he an ally or an antagonist? A brilliant mind or a chaotic force? We’ll have to wait to discover if his genius proves a blessing or a curse for the other survivors.
Fallout Season 1 is available on Prime Video.
