Mary J. Blige Expands Lifetime Film Slate with New 2025 Project

Lifetime Movie Network

Grammy and Emmy award-winning artist, Mary J. Blige, is returning to Lifetime as an executive producer for several upcoming original films. The first project, slated for a 2025 release, is inspired by her hit song Family Affair and continues the love story of Kendra and Ben from previous Lifetime films Real Love and Strength of a Woman.

The new film, Mary J. Blige’s Family Affair (wt), follows Kendra and Ben as they navigate life outside the city, grappling with fertility challenges and tensions with Ben’s son. The story takes a turn when Ben’s secret involvement with his brother strains their relationship, while an old friend reappears in Kendra’s life. The couple must work together to preserve their love amidst family complications.
