Long-running General Hospital star Michael Easton has announced his departure from the show, surprising fans with the news on his Instagram. Playing Dr. Hamilton Finn, Easton bid farewell to the series and its fans in a video posted on June 26, 2024, sharing his gratitude and fondness for the role.

In the video, Easton stated: “I’ve always been partial to the Irish goodbye. That’s where you leave the party without actually telling anyone you’re gone. But I thought you all deserved better, so I just wanted to let you know that I just filmed my final scenes here at General Hospital.”

Easton’s exit, with his final scenes airing on Thursday June 27, comes in the midst of a busy week for General Hospital news. The show recently announced the return of five-time Daytime Emmy winner Jonathan Jackson, who will reprise his role as Lucky Spencer. Additionally, Bryan Craig will make a special appearance as Morgan Corinthos, the late son of Sonny and Carly, in an episode airing in early August.
