Miss Scarlet, the PBS Canadian mystery series, is returning for its fifth season on January 12. This season introduces Tom Durant Pritchard as the new lead alongside Kate Phillips, Evan McCabe, Cathy Belton, Felix Scott, Paul Bazely, Simon Ludders, and Tim Chipping in the Masterpiece series set during the Victorian era.
The plot centers on Eliza Scarlet, played by Kate Phillips, who takes over her late father’s detective agency. Previously, Eliza collaborated with Scotland Yard inspector William Wellington, known as “The Duke,” played by Stuart Martin.
In the upcoming season, Eliza’s agency is thriving professionally. However, on a personal level, her partner Duke has been away in New York for several months, prompting Eliza to make difficult choices. Additionally, a new Detective Inspector arrives at Scotland Yard, necessitating that Eliza establish a working relationship with him to retain police resource access. These changes prompt questions about whether Eliza Scarlet can balance her professional and personal life.
Season 5 of Miss Scarlet will premiere on PBS Masterpiece on January 12, 2025.
