In the peaceful surroundings of Driffield Beck in East Yorkshire, Paul Whitehouse, Bob Mortimer, and their four-legged companion, Ted, embark on their latest fishing adventure.
This chalk stream, one of the UK’s most northerly, boasts a constant temperature of 10 degrees Celsius, creating an environment akin to a lush rainforest with stable year-round conditions. An array of wildlife flourishes in this idyllic setting, providing a serene backdrop for the trio’s pursuit of wild brown trout.
The duo wastes no time in casting their lines, but their focus is momentarily diverted by Ted, who can’t resist rolling in the mud on the riverbank, leaving him in a messy state. This prompts Bob to book a luxurious doggy spa experience for his furry friend, conveniently located near their fishing spot.
Mortimer and Whitehouse: Gone Fishing: Driffield Beck, East Yorkshire – Brown Trout airs Sunday, 6 October 2024, at 9:00 pm on BBC Two.
