Australian comedy Mother and Son is set to make a return to ABC Australia with a second season, as confirmed by the network in collaboration with Screen Australia and Screen NSW. The announcement comes on the heels of the first season’s success, which included three 2024 Logie nominations and widespread acclaim from viewers across Australia.
The series stars the inimitable Denise Scott as Maggie and Matt Okine as Arthur, who also serves as the show’s re-creator and writer. Shaun Wilson joins the creative team as director. This new version is based on the original series by Geoffrey Atherden, with new writing by Matt Okine, Sarah L. Walker, Tristram Baumber, and Tim Spencer.
The second season will premiere on ABC TV and ABC iview in 2025, with the first season currently available on ABC iview.
