Motorway: Hell on the Highway: Season 2 Episode 6 (Channel 5, 26 July 2024)

Traffic Cops

Motorway: Hell on the Highway returns for another instalment, revealing shocking incidents and near-misses captured on camera by drivers in the UK and around the world. The episode airs on Channel 5 on Thursday, 26 July 2024, at 8:00 pm.

This episode exposes the dangers of high-risk manoeuvres, level crossings, winter weather, and towing trailers. From the US to China, dashcams capture the moment a driver attempts to pass a truck via a grass verge, only to have their car totalled, and another tries to fit through a small gap, resulting in their car flipping onto its roof.

A truck in Oregon is hit by a freight train when it became stuck while the barriers descended, and an oversized vehicle in Kansas collides with a lighting rig at a crossing.

Winter weather conditions can also create hazardous situations, as seen in Russia, where a skidding truck collided with a car, and in West Virginia, where a vehicle slid towards a forty-car pile-up. The episode also explores the challenges of towing trailers and the accidents that can occur when tractors venture onto highways.
