Johnny Vegas and Sian Gibson reprise their roles as Terry and Gemma Bremmer, with Sarah Hadland joining them as Gemma’s sister, Monica, an aspiring influencer in Apocalypse Slough. The Murder, They Hope special also features guest stars Sanjeev Bhaskar, Shaun Williamson, and Annette Badland.
In Apocalypse Slough Gemma’s dream comes true when she is recruited by the SCA (Serious Crimes Agency) and trained as a special investigator. However, the SCA is less than enthusiastic about Terry due to his criminal history, creating tension in their relationship. Despite this, the couple finds themselves entangled in a peculiar double murder mystery at a local rugby club.
The members of the rugby club exhibit dark and unsettling behaviors, warranting further investigation. Adding to the intrigue, each of the victims bears an enigmatic symbol, raising questions about a potential serial killer leaving their mark.
Meanwhile, Gemma receives mysterious calls from a camouflaged figure in a bunker, adding urgency to her quest for answers.
