Netflix has announced the full cast of “Death by Lightning,” a new limited series that explores the true story of James Garfield, the 20th president of the United States, and Charles Guiteau, his eventual assassin. The series, created and written by Mike Makowsky, has wrapped production in Budapest, Hungary, and is set to debut in 2025.

“Death By Lightning” is directed by Matt Ross, who also serves as an executive producer. Other executive producers include David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, and Bernie Caulfield. The series is based on the novel “Destiny Of The Republic” by Candice Millard.
