Nivea and Friends Pack Their Bags for Peacock’s ‘Eat Slay Love,’ But Will They Pack Their Patience?

East Slay Love Trailer Key Art

Peacock is unleashing a new travel series, “Eat Slay Love,” following Grammy-nominated singer Nivea and her entourage as they gallivant through Vietnam. Premiering November 7, the three-episode unscripted series brings vibrant culture, personal growth, and, of course, a healthy dose of reality TV drama.

Joining Nivea on this birthday adventure are reality TV veterans Eva Marcille (“Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip”) and Tammy Rivera (“Love & Hip Hop Atlanta”), along with comedian London Hughes. The premise is simple enough: four friends exploring a new country, celebrating a milestone birthday, and hopefully, rediscovering themselves.

The trailer hints at stunning Vietnamese landscapes, mudbaths, and plenty of bonding moments. However, as with any group trip, tensions inevitably arise. Early clashes and misunderstandings threaten to derail the good times, leaving the ladies to patch things up amidst the chaos. Will they manage to settle their differences while immersed in a foreign land? Or will this trip turn into a full-blown vacation from hell?

“Eat Slay Love” seems to be aiming for a blend of escapist travelogue and interpersonal drama. While the scenery looks beautiful and the cast has potential for fireworks, three hour-long episodes might be a bit much for a concept this thin. I’m cautiously optimistic, hoping for some genuine moments of connection amid the manufactured drama. But hey, even if it’s a disaster, at least we get some pretty travel footage out of it.

“Eat Slay Love” is produced by Will Packer Media and Lighthearted Entertainment for Peacock. Executive producers include Will Packer, Richard Brown, Rob LaPlante, Jeff Spangler, and Anthony Sylvester.
