Channel 4 has renewed the show “Our Dream Farm with Matt Baker” for a second season, offering another batch of aspiring farmers the chance to compete for a coveted farm tenancy. The first series, which aired in April 2024, followed seven couples as they navigated challenges to showcase their farming skills and business acumen, all while vying for a 10-year tenancy on a 340-acre farm in Northumberland.
The show received praise for its honest portrayal of farming life, offering a realistic glimpse into the world of tenant farming. Matt Baker’s own farming background added authenticity to the proceedings, and the series provided a platform for contestants to share their stories, dreams, and diverse backgrounds.
The second series will shift its focus to Llyndy Isaf Farm, a 248-hectare National Trust farm in Eryri (Snowdonia). Applicants will once again be assessed on their business plans and their skills in agriculture, environmental practices, and renovation work. The successful applicant will be invited to take on a 15-year tenancy, beginning on October 31, 2024, offering them the opportunity to shape their own farming future.
