Channel 4 presents the series premiere of Outrageous Homes on Thursday, 20 June 2024, at 10.00 pm. The show celebrates bold and unique interior design choices, with Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen meeting homeowners across the UK who dare to be different.
In this opening episode, Laurence explores an array of creative and eccentric homes. He visits Dawn, whose house was once owned by multi-millionaire publisher Felix Dennis. Felix’s impressive barn is themed around the beloved children’s classic, Treasure Island, complete with swashbuckling pirates and real palm trees, all surrounding an indoor gigantic swimming pool. Dawn offers a glimpse into how she transformed this extravagant party space into a cozy home.
The episode also features Billy, who has converted his cottage garden into a Wild West ranch, complete with a saloon; Caroline, who has mosaiced her entire house magnificently; and Estelle, who takes Laurence on a journey back to the 1970s with her furnishings and a Fanny Cradock banana candle.
The show also looks at an upcycled, recycled patchwork creation in Surrey and an underwater Atlantis-themed home in a 1920s Nottingham semi.
Laurence embarks on a journey to discover the stories behind these wild and wonderful homes, meeting the proud homeowners and the designers who helped bring their visions to life.
