OWN to Broadcast 17th Annual ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood® Awards, Friday March 15

The 17th Annual ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood® Awards, a prestigious event honoring the achievements of Black women in the film and television industry, is set to air exclusively on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network. The highly anticipated awards ceremony will be broadcast on Friday, March 15 at 9pm ET/PT. Held at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on Thursday, March 7th, this event celebrates the incredible accomplishments of trailblazing women.

The 90-minute OWN broadcast will feature highlights from the ceremony, including red carpet arrivals. Fans can also stream the event on Max for their convenience.

Renowned artist Cliff “Method Man” Smith will serve as host for this year’s ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood® Awards. This prestigious event aims to recognize and amplify the impact that Black women are making in Hollywood. It honors those who have left an indelible mark in the industry and redefines what it means to be a Black woman in entertainment.

Among this year’s esteemed honorees are Danielle Brooks, an Academy Award® nominated actress and Grammy Award® winner; Halle Bailey, a six-time Grammy® nominated singer and leading actress; Nkechi Okoro Carroll, an acclaimed screenwriter and showrunner of All American; and Kathryn Busby, President of Original Programming for STARZ.
