This week People Magazine Presents: Crimes of the 2010s examines the shocking murders that took place in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, on 22 July 2015.

Robert Bever, 18, and his 16-year-old brother, Michael Bever, committed the heinous act, killing their parents, David and April Bever, and three of their siblings: Daniel, Christopher, and Victoria Bever. Two other siblings, Crystal and Autumn Bever, survived the attack.

The well-planned attack had been in the works for at least a year, with the perpetrators collecting knives and even ordering body armour. Their intention was to go on a mass-killing spree, aiming to rival notorious shootings such as those at Columbine High School and the Aurora theatre.

The massacre, known as the Broken Arrow killings or the Bever family massacre, was the deadliest crime and mass murder in the city of Broken Arrow. Robert and Michael were ultimately sentenced to life in prison without parole for their horrific crimes.
