Progress has been made on the potential spin-off series from The Big Bang Theory, which was first announced in April 2023. Three supporting actors from the original show—Brian Posehn, Lauren Lapkus, and Kevin Sussman—have signed talent-holding deals with Warner Bros Television.

The proposed series, spearheaded by Big Bang Theory co-creator and executive producer Chuck Lorre, will focus on the comic shop owned by Stuart Bloom, a character played by Kevin Sussman. Lauren Lapkus and Brian Posehn are set to return as Denise, Stuart’s girlfriend, and Bert Kibbler, a geologist, respectively.

The signing of these actors marks an important step, although it does not guarantee the production of the series. A script is currently in development. If greenlit, the series air on Max.

The Big Bang Theory, which aired on CBS from 2007 to 2019, centered on a group of scientists and their interactions with friends and partners. The prequel, Young Sheldon, concluded its seven-season run in May. Young Sheldon spin-off, Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage, is scheduled to debut on CBS later this month.
