The Hallmark Channel presents The Real West, an original movie premiering Saturday, September 28, at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT, as part of their Fall into Love programming event. The film stars Kimberley Sustad, Lucas Bryant, and James Denton.
The story follows widowed professor Rebecca, played by Sustad, as she escapes her busy life and pursues a tenure track at her university. She embarks on a family vacation to Mustang Point Ranch with her two sons in tow. There, she encounters Jake West, a nomadic former rodeo champion turned cowboy, portrayed by Bryant.
Sparks fly between Rebecca and Jake, and their attraction is immediate and undeniable. However, things take a complicated turn when Rebecca discovers that Jake is romantically involved with her sister. As the vacation unfolds, Rebecca finds herself torn between her burgeoning feelings for Jake and her dedication to her career and family obligations.
Meanwhile, Jake wrestles with his own internal conflict, confronting his reluctance to settle down. The two navigate a maze of family dynamics and career pressures, all while exploring the possibilities of their unexpected romance.
The Real West is executive produced by Veronica Brown, James Denton, Jonathan Eskenas, and Kimberley Bradley, with Charles Cooper serving as producer. Terry Ingram directs, and the screenplay is by Lara Olsen.
