Reality TV icon Richard Hatch, Survivor’s inaugural champion, recently revealed a surprising outcome from his stint on House of Villains: a flourishing dating life, all thanks to a candid conversation with Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice.
Hatch admitted to being taken aback by his fellow villains’ lack of strategic gameplay on the show. He connected with Giudice, their shared experience of incarceration forming an unexpected bond. However, it was a conversation about bedroom preferences, sparked by Giudice, that unexpectedly catapulted Hatch into a new romantic landscape.
“The comments between Teresa and me changed my life,” Hatch shared on Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea podcast. While never having concealed his sexual preferences, publicly declaring himself a “bottom” led to a deluge of attention. “I have been contacted by more fascinating, interesting, amazing… men from all over the world,” Hatch revealed, acknowledging the viral clip’s impact on his dating prospects after eight years of singlehood.
Despite his early exit from House of Villains, voted out in Episode 4, Hatch views his time on the show as transformative. He confessed to misjudging the game, expecting more strategic gameplay than the emotionally driven interactions he encountered. “Many of them were not even playing a game,” he noted. “It was all about emotion, and I just wasn’t prepared for that at all.”
However, the unexpected silver lining came from his interaction with Giudice. “I’m going to be in a partnership at some point, I’m betting,” a hopeful Hatch declared, crediting Giudice’s now-famous question. “Based on Teresa asking me if I’m a top or a bottom, House of Villains changed my life, I’ll bet you.” Hatch is currently enjoying a busy dating life, exploring connections with several potential partners.
