The year is 1978, and an antiquated extradition treaty between the UK and Spain has just expired, significantly reducing the likelihood of fugitive British criminals being extradited back to their home country to face trial.
Kemp uncovers how, by the end of the 1980s, the Spanish coast had become more than just a retirement haven for criminal masterminds. He meets with old-school British criminals, looking into their stories and experiences, and learns more about the intricate pathways through which the Italian mafia transported Colombian cocaine from Spain into the UK.
