In the penultimate week of Scotland’s Home of the Year, judges Anna Campbell Jones, Banjo Beale, and Danny Campbell explore three unique homes in the East as they narrow down the finalists. This week, they visit a colourful villa, a new build with stunning views, and a mid-century bungalow renovation.
The first home the judges step into is The Pink House, a vibrant renovation in Fife. Heather, Brian, and their two daughters, Rosie and Olive, call this colourful abode home. Having grown up in the village, Heather has lovingly transformed the interior with paint and clever upcycling, reflecting her favourite colour, pink, in every room. The four-bedroom property embraces childhood and nostalgia, with vintage and second-hand furniture, bold colour combinations, and a disco ball shining in the kitchen.
Next on their journey, the judges discover Sea View in North Berwick, a newly built home belonging to Jenny, David, and their dogs, Charlie and Belle. Working with an architect and interior designer, the couple has maximized the stunning views over the Firth of Forth. The upside-down house has living space upstairs and sleeping quarters below. Sea View impresses with a cinema room and a master bathroom that combines a petrified wooden sink, leopard print wallpaper, and a beaded chandelier.
As the judges continue their search, they explore Coldwater, a mid-century bungalow renovation in Linlithgow. Fran, Martin, and their children Bailey and Esme have transformed this once-beige property into a fun and innovative space. Fran’s creativity shines with bespoke pieces and carefully sourced furniture that complements the home’s age. A highlight of this four-bedroom home is the sunken lounge with a built-in bar made from recycled plastic, featuring a floating sideboard and unique lighting.
With the grand final approaching, the judges must decide between these three distinct homes: The Pink House, Sea View, and Coldwater, as they select the final contenders for Scotland’s Home of the Year.
