Secrets of a Murder Detective returns with a new episode, “Broken Hearted,” airing on True Crime on Thursday, 4 July 2024. The episode examines the tragic murder of Christopher Proctor, a retired college lecturer, in 2012.
In this episode, Detective Inspector Steve Keogh, with the assistance of SIO Pete Simm, guides viewers through the intricate investigation of Christopher Proctor’s murder. Proctor, who had lived in the same bungalow for nearly 40 years, was believed to have been targeted for his fortune. Reports suggest that he may have been vulnerable and targeted for several years.
The last sighting of Proctor alive was captured on CCTV footage on November 9, 2012, when he was seen using a cash machine at a Tesco near his home. Just before 4 am on November 10, the police received a call from the fire service reporting a fire at Proctor’s home. It was determined that Proctor had been killed before the fire started.
The episode explores the ongoing investigation, including the review of CCTV footage and witness interviews, as the police work tirelessly to bring justice to Proctor’s case.
