The first of two episodes tonight of Signs of a Psychopath airs on Investigation Discovery on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at 10:00 p.m. In this one the disappearance of six-months-pregnant Martine Bernard and her father days later prompts her family to report them missing.
When officers interview Martine’s husband, Cassandritz Blanc, they encounter a calculating psychopath willing to go to extreme lengths to conceal his tracks.
Martine Bernard was 20 or 22 years old and six months pregnant when she was shot in the head allegedly by Blanc, who then allegedly.tried to dismember her body to make it easier to dispose of. He failed to do so and moved her body into a garbage bin in an alley eight days after her death.
Blanc is also alleged to have set his father-in-law’s body on fire in an attempt to destroy evidence. Blanc, who was 27 at the time of the murders, is facing charges of premeditated murder and abusing a corpse. He was back in court in August 2023 as his attorneys worked to help him avoid the death penalty.
In an interrogation video obtained by CBS Miami, Blanc tried to pin the murder of his father-in-law on his wife, claiming that she was responsible for her father’s death and that she had planned to kill herself.
