Songs of Praise: All Things Bright and Beautiful (BBC One, June 30, 2024)

Celebrated singer Katherine Jenkins attends the prestigious RHS Chelsea Flower Show, where she explores a unique garden exhibit presented by St. James’s Piccadilly. Notably, this is the first time a church has participated in this renowned event.

Katherine meets with the Rev. Lucy Winkett, vicar of St. James’s, who shares the inspiring message behind their garden design, inviting us to ‘imagine the world to be different’. The garden also contributes to the creation of permanent green spaces in central London, offering peaceful retreats from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Katherine also discovers the Sue Ryder display, which features a garden designed to support people through grief. Affectionately described as a ‘green hug’, this garden provides comfort to all who visit. Designer Katherine Holland opens up about her personal journey, revealing how her own experience with bereavement led her to horticulture, where she now creates spaces that offer solace to others.
