Sun, Sea and Selling Houses: Series 7 Episode 2 (Channel 4, Tuesday, June 4, 2024)

A New Life in the Sun

In the sunny climes of Spain, the property hunt is on as the series continues to follow families assisting Brits in finding their dream homes. This episode, airing on Channel 4 on Tuesday June 4 takes us to two vibrant locations: Almería and Alicante.

In Almería, father-and-son estate agents Steve and Shaun Garner face a challenge as they search for a holiday home that meets the conflicting criteria of couple Manjit and Zaffar from Leeds. With a top budget of €350,000, Steve and Shaun must navigate differing priorities to find the perfect property.

Adding to the adventure, Shaun persuades Steve to join him on an outing to the Baza lakes to test his new inflatable kayak. Despite Steve’s determination to stay dry and the gathering storm clouds, they paddle out together. Will they make it back to shore safely?

Meanwhile, in Alicante, Rodriguez sisters Sophie and Charlotte step in to help lorry driver Dave and his wife, Paula, find their Spanish sanctuary. With a more modest budget of €90,000, the couple seeks to escape the rat race and discover a tranquil corner of Spain to call their own.

Away from the property searches, the estate agents enjoy some downtime. Charlotte, Sophie, Damon, and their six children play tourists for the day, exploring Alicante from the top of an open-top bus and taking in the city’s sights. Sun, Sea and Selling Houses offers a blend of property hunts and local exploration, showcasing the beauty of Spain and the unique dynamics of its expat community.
