Escaping Captivity: The Kara Robinson Story

Lifetime presents the indie film Forever, starring Taye Diggs and Meagan Good. Airing on Saturday, 24 August 2024, at 8.00 pm, the film is part of the network’s Terry McMillan Presents movie banner.

The story centres around Johnnie (Diggs), a military veteran whose life takes an unexpected turn when he returns home and finds himself facing divorce papers. As he deal with this crossroads in his life, he serendipitously meets Carlie (Good), a local policewoman who pulls him over for speeding. Despite their unconventional first encounter, Johnnie finds himself drawn to Carlie and determined to win her heart. However, his first challenge is to connect with her three daughters and become the man Carlie needs him to be.

To truly move forward, Johnnie must confront his past and let go of old fears and regrets. In his journey towards self-discovery and healing, he learns the true meaning of family and what it takes to build a future with Carlie.

The film is directed by Charles Murray, known for his work on Outer Range and Luke Cage, who also serves as an executive producer. Terry McMillan Presents: Forever is the second film under the Terry McMillan Presents banner, following Terry McMillan Presents: Tempted By Love, starring Garcelle Beauvais, which premiered last week.
