The brand-new Danish crime drama The Sommerdahl Murders makes its debut on More4 this Friday. This eight-part series, brought to UK audiences by Walter Presents, is set in a picturesque seaside town and centers on obsessive detective Dan Sommerdahl.
In the opening double bill, an illegal immigrant is discovered dead on the beach, and her newborn baby is nowhere to be found. Detective Sommerdahl and his long-time friend and colleague, Detective Flemming, must track down a violent man with possible connections to the deceased.
This suspect has a restraining order against him for his ex-wife, whom he may now be seeking out. The detectives’ primary concern, however, is locating the missing baby. They turn to a women’s refuge for assistance, hoping that someone there might provide crucial information.
Meanwhile, Dan’s dedication to his work creates tension in his relationship with his beloved wife, Marianne, when he forgets their anniversary, leading to unforeseen consequences.
The cast includes Peter Mygind, Andre Babikian, Laura Drasbæk, Lotte Andersen, Frank Thiel, Merete Mækdahl, and Ina-Miram Rosenbaum. The series is presented in Danish with English subtitles.
