On Monday, June 3, 2024, NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon welcomes actress Jessica Alba, actor and comedian Marlon Wayans, and a performance from the Broadway musical “The Outsiders.”
Jessica Alba, an American actress and businesswoman, first rose to prominence as the lead actress of the television series “Dark Angel” (2000-2002). She has since established herself as a Hollywood actress, starring in box office hits such as “Fantastic Four” (2005), “Sin City” (2005), and “Good Luck Chuck” (2007). Alba has been recognized for her looks, frequently appearing on lists of the most attractive celebrities, and has ventured into entrepreneurship, co-founding The Honest Company and releasing a book, “The Honest Life.”
Marlon Wayans, a versatile entertainer, is known for his acting, comedy, writing, and directing. He has appeared in popular films such as “White Chicks” and “Scary Movie.” Wayans recently starred in and directed “The Curse of Bridge Hollow” on Netflix and completed a special role in the final episode of “BEL-AIR.” He also has several upcoming projects, including a sports drama for Amazon Studios and the film “Him,” set for release in Fall 2025.
“The Outsiders” is a Broadway musical based on the seminal novel by S.E. Hinton and the landmark motion picture by Francis Ford Coppola. Set in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1967, it tells the story of Ponyboy Curtis, Johnny Cade, and their chosen family of “outsiders”, who are in a fight for survival and a quest for purpose in a world that may never accept them. The musical features a book by Adam Rapp and Justin Levine, with music and lyrics by Jamestown Revival (Jonathan Clay and Zach Chance) and Levine. It received 12 Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical, and has been praised for its brilliant staging, soulful music, and high-octane choreography.
