On Friday, July 19, 2024, The View welcomes Kerry Washington and Delroy Lindo to the show to discuss the second season of the Hulu series UnPrisoned.
Kerry Washington stars in and executive produces the series. In UnPrisoned, she plays Paige Alexander, a family and marriage therapist with a large Instagram following. Despite her vocation, she struggles with her personal relationships, particularly with her father, Edwin, who is frequently in and out of prison.
Delroy Lindo, best known for his dramatic roles in films such as Da 5 Bloods, Malcolm X, The Good Fight, The Cider House Rules, and The Harder They Fall, takes on a comedic role in UnPrisoned. He plays Edwin, an impossibly cool formerly incarcerated father trying to reconnect with his daughter, Paige. Lindo describes the show as a “dramedy”, straddling the line between drama and comedy.
