On Wednesday, June 19, 2024, The View celebrates Juneteenth and welcomes award-winning actress Taraji P. Henson and R&B singer Patti LaBelle to the show. Kool & The Gang will also be performing.
Taraji P. Henson joins the show to discuss her new children’s book, You Can Be a Good Friend (No Matter What!). Henson is known for her roles in Hustle & Flow, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and Empire, for which she won a Golden Globe Award. Her other accolades include a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress and multiple Primetime Emmy Award nominations.
Patti LaBelle, often referred to as the “Godmother of Soul,” is an R&B singer and actress with a career spanning seven decades. She began her career in the early 1960s as the lead singer of the vocal group Patti LaBelle and the Bluebelles, later renamed Labelle. After the group’s split in 1976, LaBelle embarked on a successful solo career, with hits such as “If Only You Knew,” “Love, Need and Want You,” and “New Attitude.” She has also ventured into television, appearing in shows like A Different World and American Horror Story: Freak Show.
Kool & The Gang, the legendary music group, will be performing on the show. They have had a string of hits, including the iconic “Celebration,” which was added to the Library of Congress.
