Channel 5 is set to premiere a captivating four-part psychological drama titled “Too Good to Be True,” starring Kara Tointon and Allen Leech. This gripping series, which will air on Wednesday 14 February 2024 at 9:00 PM, follows the story of Rachel (Kara Tointon), a single mother struggling to make ends meet.
Rachel finds herself on the poverty line, working tirelessly as a cleaner to provide for her young son, Liam (Charlie Hodson-Prior). However, their fortunes take an unexpected turn when Simone (Sara Powell), a businesswoman representing the affluent Elliot (Allen Leech), approaches Rachel’s boss with an enticing offer. The opportunity promises better pay and shorter hours, leaving Rachel intrigued but wary of its apparent too-good-to-be-true nature.
Elliot proves incredibly generous and accommodating towards Rachel and Liam. He presents them with gifts and offers glimpses into his opulent life by showcasing his vintage car collection. As Rachel and Liam become further entangled in this seemingly perfect world that Elliot has created, doubts begin to emerge regarding his true intentions. Questions arise as to whether it is Rachel or Liam that he holds a vested interest in.
The cast also includes Taj Atwal as Jasmine, John Thomson as Geoff, Oliver Devoti as Keiron, Ciara McKeown as Michelle, Esther Ayo James as Teacher and Seamus Moran as Martin.
