Tyler Perry’s first-ever Netflix series, Beauty in Black, is set to premiere its first eight episodes on October 24, 2024. The drama centers around two women from contrasting backgrounds—Kimmie, played by Taylor Polidore Williams, and Mallory, portrayed by Crystle Stewart. Kimmie, struggling after being cast out by her mother, crosses paths with Mallory, a successful businesswoman, leading to unexpected entanglements that fuel the show’s tension.
Beauty in Black dives into themes of survival, corruption, and family conflicts, with Perry serving as the creator, director, writer, and executive producer. The series cast also includes Amber Reign Smith, Debbi Morgan, Richard Lawson, and Terrell Carter.
The production is helmed by Tyler Perry Studios, with Will Areu, Angi Bones, and Tony L. Strickland joining as producers. The show’s artistic team includes Shornell Young (Hair), Syretta Bell (Make-Up), Raiyonda Vereen (Costume Design), and music composed by Wow Jones and JimiJame$.
