So, UP Faith & Family is decking the halls early this year. Like, really early. Their “Cozy UP for Christmas” programming starts Wednesday, November 8, 2024, unleashing a blizzard of over 200 holiday movies, including 32 fresh flicks. If you’re the type who starts humming carols before Thanksgiving, this might be your jam.
Among the new titles are “Christmas in Rockwell,” where a jaded big-city star rediscovers small-town charm (and probably love). “Festival of Trees” pits decorators against each other in a tinsel-laden showdown, while “A Very English Christmas” promises a whirlwind wedding amid picturesque countryside. “A Bluegrass Christmas” hopes to tug at heartstrings with a horse sanctuary in jeopardy and a bluegrass reunion, whereas “12 Dares of Christmas” throws a French teacher into the mix, presumably for added je ne sais quoi.
“Dial S for Santa” seems to be aiming for a slightly different tone; a Christmas mystery with an investigator/police chief romance. “Country Roads Christmas” mashes up country music and family drama as a woman manages her estranged father’s career, and “A Novel Christmas” follows the predictable path of a children’s author finding inspiration (and love, of course) in a quaint town. Finally, “Jingle Smells” presents a war vet-turned-holiday Robin Hood, rescuing doomed toys. It’s a lot to unpack, and frankly, I’m a little overwhelmed.
For the truly dedicated, UP Faith & Family is hosting its first virtual ChristmasFest on Monday, November 25, 2024, at 2 p.m. ET. Expect sneak peeks, trailers, and Q&As with stars like Erin Bethea, Shaun Johnston, Brigitte Kingsley, and Julian Haig. If you’re curious, the UP Faith & Family app is available on iOS, Google Play, FireTV, Roku, Apple TV, and other platforms.
