A Show Of My Own (ITV Comedy, Dave Evans)

A one off half hour special for impressionist Dave Evans, this was an attempt at a star vehicle for Evans who had made a few appearances on Who Do You Do but is probably best known as the father of comedian Lee Evans.

Guests on the special were singer Lyn Paul, six piece girl dance group Sister-Metic and comedians Felix Bowness and Norman Chappell. Music was provided by Ken Jones and his Big Band. Choreography was by Andrea Rutherford. Unfortunately for Evans the one off made little impression (if you’ll pardon the pun) and he disappeared from TV Screens until making a few appearances on 1980’s impressionists show Copycats. Evans died in June 2019.
