Fooling Hitler (ITV-1 2004, Jason Durr, Dorian Healy)

Drama documentary Fooling Hitler focused on the story of an unorthodox unit put together during Word War II whose task it was to provide deceptions and hoaxes to disguise the real intentions and strengths of the allied forces in Britain.

They built fake aeroplanes and decoy tanks to fool German air reconnaissance; had double-agents feeding back false information; and their coup-de-grâce:- making Hitler believe that the real D-day landings were in fact a diversion to the “real” attack that would come much further along the French coast – thus saving those D-Day troops from the onslaught of Hitler’s mighty tank regiment which was waiting to be used.

Narrated in-character by Jason Durr.
