Quirke (BBC-1 2014, Gabriel Byrne, Nick Dunning)

Crime drama series set in 1950’s where Dublin’s chief pathologist Quirke (like so many maverick crime drama leads Quirke seems to have no first name) finds himself drawn into investigating the bodies who turn up at his mortuary.

Nicely atmospheric, capturing the smoky atmosphere of 1950’s Dublin to a tee. Guest stars in the first run of episodes included Colin Morgan, Geraldine Somerville and Michael Gambon.
