You Rang M’Lord (BBC-1 1990-1993, Paul Shane, Jeffrey Holland)

Sitcom You Rang M’Lord was basically a comedy version of Upstairs Downstairs focusing on the exploits of the uppercrust Meldrum family and their servants in the 1920’s.

A 50 minute pilot was broadcast 29 December 1988, this set the premise wherby Alf and James had saved the life of Teddy Meldrum during the Great War.

A show that also brought together Jimmy Perry and David Crofts repertory of players from their previous sitcoms Dad’s Army, It Ain’t Half Hot Mum and Hi De Hi.
